NO MONSTER BUS

NO MONSTER BUS TERMINAL

STOP MUNI FROM DESTROYING SAN FRANCISCO'S ELEGANCE

Union Street is one of San Francisco’s most beautiful areas. With thriving small business, mom-and-pop shops, diners, restaurants, flower shops, and many other business which are now under threat of losing there ability to provide the riches of San Francisco to everyone. The MUNI will destroy the ambiance of Union Stree. With LITTLE or NO NOTICE to business MUNI along with the City has decided to install major bus stops by destroying another one of San Francisco’s treasures. Currently the streets have trolleybuses that provide transportation to and on Union Street. The new buses will limit and eliminate parking availability for business on Union Street. This will intern hurt the entire community. Union Street DOES NOT NEED LARGE BUSES. Please read and sign this petition.

Print it out and drop off at any of the business on Union.

We have little time so we must act fast. For a more information please read the Petition.

Petition

We the undersigned, petition the SF Major’s office, Board of Supervisors, Municipal Transportation Authority, Planning Department and Commission, Health Department, Department of Public Works and The SF Small Business Commission to NOT ALLOW BUSES on Union Street for the following reasons:
Articulated buses are TOO LARGE for the narrow streets of Cow Hollow causing RISK to pedestrians and ADA SAFETY and ACCESSIBILITY; LOSS of ECONOMIC VITALITY to business due to PARKING LOSSES and RESTRICTIONS: negative impact on business deliveries as well as BLOCKING ACCESS AND VISIBILITY to businesses.
Placing the END OF THE LINE TURNAROUND AT Steiner and the “RESTING” of buses in front of stories, offices, bed and breakfast inns on Union DENIES the merchants the RIGHT to FREE ENTERPRISE. Adjacent residences on Union and side streets, especially GREEN, will have access to their driveways SEVERLY IMPACTED.
Articulated Buses were designed for major thoroughfares NOT FOR SMALL neighborhoods, business and residential districts with NARROW STREETS like Cow Hollow.
